Eudemonia
Referring to the ancient Greek concept of “blossoming”, Eudemonia is an experimental photographic series of flowers from 35mm film negatives that have been buried in a pot of violets for six weeks.
The burial and exhumation of film is an important part of this creative approach, as an emotional rebirth that translates visually, giving resonance to time, place and process.
The metaphor of the garden and the influence of nature aim to honor the healing character of time and environment on the healing process.
This series also allows her to introduce the element of chance and surprise, as well as the sense of letting go and necessary patience - intrinsically linked to the healing journey.
With violets symbolizing memory and forgiveness, these soft, abstract photographs are an ode to resilience and the cycle of life.
